aemi recommends: Artist Talk + Screening: Italian Artists’ Films @ Temple Bar Gallery + Studios

Published date: 13 May 2026

STILL FROM: Rebecca Moccia, 'Ministries of Loneliness' Italy, Japan, UK, USA (2023)

aemi recommends attending this screening at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios this coming Friday.

15 May 2026, 4–5.45pm

Developed in conjunction with Rebecca Moccia’s solo exhibition titled Nostalgism, the screening programme brings together a selection of films by Italian artists Simona Andrioletti, Riccardo Giacconi, and Giulio Squillacciotti. Supported by Careof (Milan) and preserved in its archive, these works explore the relationship between governance and intimacy, between the individual and the social body, and the relationship between politics, communication, and human behaviour.

Following Rebecca Moccia’s research, the program presents works in which emotional states are not viewed as purely personal or internal, but as deeply intertwined with socio-political structures. Moving through cinematic languages, the series reflects on how this relationship unfolds across spaces, technologies, institutional contexts, and cultural production.

This will be followed by a short conversation in the Gallery with Rebecca Moccia and Programme Curator Michael Hill.
