aemi Rough Cut session – July 2020

Rough Cut is an aemi event that provides film artists with the opportunity to present works-in-progress at various stages of development to a guest curator, programmer, producer, academic or critic in a supportive peer environment. This is a useful way to get critical feedback and advice or guidance around production, funding and exhibition strategy. Originally due to take place in Studio 6 at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, due to Covid-19, Rough Cut events are now taking place online via Zoom as a summer series.
The July event was held Wednesday 22nd July 2020 at 8pm. Sharon Whooley and Saoirse Wall presented work at this second event which was moderated by Ben Cook, Director of LUX. Ben responded to the artists’ works before conversation about the projects opened out to the rest of the group in attendance. aemi will host one further Rough Cut session this summer in early September.
