aemi Updates & Changes

Published date: 29 Apr 2020

As a result of Covid-19 disruptions, aemi irl events are currently postponed until further notice. We remain busy however…

We are continuing to offer supports to artists & filmmakers through our one-on-one support sessions so if you have a moving image work you are developing or if you have questions about funding, distribution or exhibition strategy, book in a session and we will do our best to help. As always, these hour-long support sessions are free and they are taking place online or over the phone.

Besides these meetings with individual artists we are also running a summer series of online ‘Rough Cut’ sessions that provide film artists with the opportunity to present works-in-progress at various stages of development to a guest curator, programmer, academic or critic in a supportive peer environment. This is a useful way to get critical feedback and advice or guidance around production, funding and exhibition. If you would like to find out more about our advisory or Rough Cut sessions, email us at [email protected]

There is a lot happening in terms of online exhibition at the moment, including some thoughtful and engaged responses to our current predicament. We are keeping track of this through our monthly newsletter and that remains the best way to stay engaged, not only with aemi news but also with more general goings-on, you can subscribe for free here and you can check out previous aemi newsletters on our website here – these include a host of recommendations for online viewing options.

We are also continuing work on our public programme, including ways to engage with audiences virtually, something we had been planning for some time but is now more vital than ever. News and details of our events are always posted in our newsletter and here on the aemi website.
