Festival Submissions and Funding Schedule

x5 Week Online Course: MILITANT CINEMA & ACTIVIST FILM (AUTUMN) Tuesday Evenings 20th August – 17th September. 7-9 PM Led by activist filmmaker Mario Hamad, this five-week online course will prepare you to engage with the global injustices and atrocities of the 21st century by focusing on the concepts and techniques of filmmaking, film viewing and film dissemination as forms of political action.

This is a still from ‘Daisy: Queer Prophet of the Apocalypse’, a work-in-progress film by artist and filmmaker Venus Patel. The scene is set at dusk on a sandy beach, where a person is shown on their hands and knees, facing sideways towards a low pool of water. Rough Cut events form part of aemi’s Artist Support programme. We present three editions of Rough Cut each year…
