aemi & TBG+S are delighted to welcome Mark Leckey to present an informal artist talk about his work that will take place in Studio 6 at Temple Bar Gallery+Studios at 2pm on Tuesday January 29th. Mark Leckey (born 1964) is a British contemporary artist, working with collage art, music and video. His found object art and video pieces, which incorporate themes of nostalgia and anxiety, and draw on elements of pop culture, span several videos. In particular, he is know for Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore (1999) and Industrial Light and Magic (2008), for which he won the 2008 Turner Prize. This talk is free and will be directed towards third level-students.

Mark Leckey is in Dublin to present his most recent work entitled Dream English Kid, 1964-1999 AD as part of ‘The Memory-Image‘, an aemi screening event curated with Dr Sarah Durcan, artist and programme leader of the MFA Fine Art at the National College of Art & Design. ‘The Memory-Image’ will take place at the Irish Film Institute on Tuesday January 29th at 6.30pm.
