DISSOLUTIONS 25: International festival strategies for film artists with Jeremy Rigbsy

27 September 2025 / 2pm / The Complex Dublin
Jeremy Rigsby- Assistant Director Media City Film Festival will give a talk that will look at the changing environments now facing film artists on the festival circuit

Media City Film Festival (rooted in both Ontario, Canada and Detroit, Michigan) is widely recognised as an industry leader in its advancement and support of artists whose practices are experimental in form, genre, content, and aesthetics. While their activities centre on an annual festival the organisation’s activities are year-round and wide reaching including their CHRYSALIS FELLOWSHIP which recently supported the work of Kamal Aljafari, Director of DISSOLUTIONS 25’s opening film. As well as being Assistant Director of the festival Jeremy Rigsby has also been central to the development of the Angelis Novis Network, a rotating congregation of artists, curators, conservationists, funders, filmmakers, and other professionals. This network offers experimental development and industry activities to uplift filmmakers and adjacent communities in collaboration with museums, galleries, granting and distribution agencies, festivals, and other affinity groups and institutions internationally. Jeremy will bring his extensive knowledge and experience to this wide-ranging discussion which will look at the changing environments now facing film artists on the international festival circuit.

This event is supported by Screen Ireland, as part of their Skills Development Funding.

This event is free and places can be reserved via the Eventbrite link on this page. To attend screenings at DISSOLUTIONS you must book a day or weekend festival ticket. Day or weekend festival ticket holders can attend discussions/masterclasses without having to book a place via Eventbrite.
