The first in a three-part programme that seeks to examine the possibilities of collectivism through a diverse selection of recent works, aemiProjections presents Paris-based artist Marylène Negro’s X+, an intricate and provocative collage-work that combines material from ten key works of the counter-culture movement of the 60s and 70s. The film historian Nicole Brenez has described how X+ reveals a new politics of cinema, and raises the question ‘at what point does history start shaking?’
